Recently I was asked to evaluate two different websites using different evaluation techniques.  I am now posed with the question of what others would think of my website.  In its current state others may view my website as a personal website in which I express my point of view and talk about things that I am doing for CD 315.  When my projects are complete and my website is finished, I hope that people view my site as reliable and valid.  When developing my project I plan on using reliable sources to make my point.  I want people to know that my website can be trusted and is backed up with ample reseach.  I want people to view me as a reliable source and use my page if they need it.  I want my page to be current and provide up to date information on treatment of chronic Broca’s aphasia and apraxia.  I hope that people learn from my website and think that the information that it contains is important.  This is how I want people to view my website and how I will try to make this happen.

    Whitney,

I think you have a good list here of the things you hope/want your site to be. What I need to you to think about is how your site will actually become those things? For example, if you want your site to be viewed as valid and reliable, what are the things you will have to do in the development of the space (content and design) to convey that to people? Be more specific because these are the things you will have to include in your work later…not just your desires and wishes.

  2. I’m sure that people will learn a lot from your website once it is finished. You have chosen a very interesing topic!

I think that with the research that you’re doing and the professional look of your site, many students and others will think that your site is a good source of information. Keep up the good work Whitney!

Whitney I feel the same way that you do-I feel like my site may not be credible as of now(people may view it as a personal site with my points of view). I also think (atleat Hope) in the end our sites will be valid, reliable, credible. I think we must have accurate and reliable up-to-date information to do so. You did a good job!

I think you’re well on your way to developing a very professional site. We just have to remember that these are works in progress and not expected to be perfect at this point. It is good, however, that we are looking at them from a professional standpoint so that we can think critically about our work. Great layout!!

I also hope that people will use my site and find the information helpful. Even though I am just a student, I would like to think that it may help someone in some way.

I think that our sites will be much more “credible” and “valid” once we have more of our research projects published. I also hope that people will look at my site as see it as a source that must be credible for self-education and people curious about my topic.
